dear future me,
I really hope that you're happy with how your life has played out. I hope you haven't always made the right decision and you've regretted things, where is the fun in always being right? I hope the boy that you're so crazy over treats you the way you should be treated... and I hope you have the cutest of children one day, if not already. I hope you never lost your relationship with your mother, she means the world to you, whether you'd like to see it or not. I hope you've eventually learnt to love your "step" father, the one who you've been calling daddy since you were six and realized that DNA isn't the most important part of a father daughter relationship. I hope that you learn to forgive the "sperm donor" of a father who felt, much like a sperm donor, that he could just leave after having you and never turn back. I hope you've stopped wondering whether or not he would have ever come to find you if he were still alive. I hope you're employed but more than that, I wish that you're happy with the work that you do, that your work is meaningful and you make a difference in the world. Sincerely,
-sixteenyearold Caitt
